The rise and fall of a Utah winter...

As a big fan of Snotel data and weather reports, I was pretty excited when I recently came across this video:

It was embedded on the current conditions portion of the Utah Avalanche Center Website, and is quite literally, a tale of the tape from the 2012 water year. It looks like something delivered a knockout blow to our snowpack. A poor La NiƱa call? A shift in the Pacific Decadal Oscillation? New extremes in local weather as a result of global climate change? I'll just hope for a cool, wet spring and smarter groundhogs in the future.
