@Figshare launches embeddable content

Figshare has recently upped the ante in open access data sharing. Now, rather than linking to a DOI or stable link, Figshare users can directly embed their content into a website the same way Youtube or Twitter users can. While anyone with basic HTML skills will see that this isn't that crazy of a new development, it provides the layresearcher with new avenues for linking her/his content online.

For example, here's the talk I gave earlier this month at SWS 2013, but embedded for the world to see and download:

It's only a matter of time before online CVs and publication lists have every document embedded for download (with altmetric counting!), rather than just posting up DOI links.
