This Week in Olympic History #TakeAStance

This week the International Olympic Committee decides what, if anything, is more "Olympic" than wrestling. Wrestling, as you may know, has been in 27 of 28 modern Olympic games, and the event serves as the sport's Super Bowl, Tour de France, or World Series. After getting voted off the 2020 Olympics earlier this spring, FILA, the international governing body of wrestling, cleaned house and started re-branding the sport to have wrestling reinstated as an Olympic Sport. This re-branding included shuffling resources to make an even number of weight classes in men's and women's freestyle, streamlining the rules, and having countries small (see Israel and Iran) and large (see Russia and China) bribe the crap out of the IOC's elected delegates (hypothetically). The vote by the IOC goes down in four short days. I'm on the edge of my seat. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, see below:
