Recent work and collaborations

I've been working in several policy, technical, research, and planning groups as an ecologist with Meadow Run Environmental. Here are a sampling from 2016-18:


  • Developing forested wetland ecology and hydrology studies in working timberlands (Washington State Department of Natural Resources Cooperative Monitoring Evaluation and Research Committee).
  • Evaluating riparian vegetation responses to flow regimes along the San Joaquin River below Friant Dam, CA (USDA Forest Service for the Bureau of Reclamation).
  • Writing and editing monitoring protocols for wadeable stream riparian ecosystems (USDA Forest Service National Stream and Aquatic Ecology Center).
  • Landscape planning tools for floodplains across the interior Columbia River Basin and state of Utah (Utah State University).
  • Evaluating the impacts of flow-modification on cottonwood habitat within the Chehalis River Basin (Anchor QEA and Washington State Dept. of Ecology)


  • Expert panel on riparian and floodplain ecosystems of the Columbia Plateau (Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife)
  • Expert panel on riparian ecosystem monitoring, planning, and evaluation with the (Bureau of Land Management and USDA Forest Service)


  • Horticultural and ecological consulting on public art along the Burke-Gilman trail (Artist Karl Addison for Seattle Department of Transportation)
